Coffee morning will be here again on Saturday! We had a good attendance last month without being overcrowded, and raised an incredible £631.75!!! The brilliant bonus to this is we will also receive £500 ‘match’ funding from HSBC courtesy of Lorraine Wykes. Lorraine spent the morning volunteering with us, armed with her lovely smile encouraging people to spend their hard earned dosh – many thanks indeed, Lorraine. This will be the last coffee morning of the year, to resume in January.
The 300 Club was drawn on 5th November by S. Price and verified by A. Bewers with the following winners:
E Short number 320 winning £37
M Bennett number 98 winning £27
P Goodman number 193 winning £18
The next draw date is Friday 3rd December.
Geoff’s quiz was a very successful evening last Friday, the winners being the same team that won last time, so having brought the MH Quiz Cup in with them they took it home again! I must say, it positively sparkled, so well done to whoever polished it for the night. Elaine did us all proud having catered solo for 47 people – baked potatoes, chilli, cheese, coleslaw and baked beans were much enjoyed by all. A massive thank you Elaine, also for all the clearing and washing up. You are a star! Thanks also to Jeanne who baked and donated some yummy muffins which went down a storm and added £28 to the pot. So, we all raised £472 from the evening. I keep saying it, but these funds are desperately needed.
