From Monday March 8th Marlow House are so pleased to be open once again. Although it is on a restricted basis we are hoping that this is just the beginning to a full opening later in the year. Most clients and staff have had the Covid jab ands are waiting for the second.
We will be looking for more Volunteer help as the year progresses but initially we need help with Meals on Wheels delivery.
Employees at Great Bear (warehousing and distribution) based in Desborough are raising money to support Marlow House. Jo Rock and Lesley Holmes are their charity champions and have been very busy this year running raffles and making Easter boxes for each of our clients. Pictured here is Oksana (one of the winners of a raffle) holding her prize.
A huge thank you to Jo and Lesley and all participants in the various activities. Fundraising is always paramount to us, but never more so than now when we’ve had to suspend our own events e.g. monthly coffee mornings and quizzes.
On the Monday before Easter Jo (black top) and Lesley (pink top) delivered 72 Easter gift boxes to Marlow House. That is correct, they raised enough money to buy goodies to make 72 in order that each of our clients receive one! VPK (Rigid) Packaging very kindly donated the boxes. Jo and Lesley presented one to each of our clients that were at Marlow House that day and the rest were delivered during the week, together with meals on wheels. Needless to say, it was very touching to hear comments when delivering boxes. Everyone was tickled pink and some couldn’t believe the trouble Jo and Lesley had gone to. A huge thank you to all at Great Bear and to VPK too.
The section below is a small photo gallery of of Jo and Lesley at Marlow House.
Our friends from Wacoal have so generously donated a Christmas present, as shown in the photo,
to each and everyone of our 70 clients. Many many thanks.
Santa popped in to Marlow recently, but who is under the costume???
Chairman, Alan Francis, wishes you all a very merry Christmas and is looking good in his new suit!!!!
Jane and Dave Fisher, long time supporters, popped in with these 2 gifts for clients. They are boxes of toiletries and treats, one box dedicated to a male, one to a female. Ken and Vera were the lucky names to be pulled out the hat and both were bowled over to be presented with them.
We had this beautiful Christmas cake delivered to Marlow house from one of our supporters and volunteers, Jane Moss. It is for staff and volunteers to enjoy.
Here we have a happy volunteer Carl Pegg helping paint the external walls of Marlow house!
Thank You Carl and Thank You to Lindsey, our Carer for dragging her husband out of his warm bed, in the Christmas holidays to support us here at Marlow House!
Here we have another happy husband volunteering his help.
Elaine has got Glen out in our garden area cutting down trees and having a tidy up with daughter Ziva. Thanks guys! It's looking great and we appreciate your time helping us!
A lovely lady called Natasha Golding organised in the local community, through her Facebook page, to have a number of Christmas 'Shoe Boxes' donated, to be shared amongst the elderly in the local area.
We were very lucky to be approached and had 32 presents donated to our clients.
This was absolutely amazing and our clients were so surprised and thankful for the generosity shown. .
A big big thank you to you Natasha for working so hard with the local people of Desborough to organise such a wonderful thing, especially after the year we've all had.
Due to the restrictions placed on us by Covid-19, the AGM for Vine Community Trust was held online by the Trustees on July 13th 2020.
I am sorry that we were unable to extend our normal invitation to you. A one page summary of our year end accounts as at March 31st, and a copy of the Chairman’s report. can be seen below in the next section.
Regarding the Officers for next year, Eddy Short has now stepped down as Vice Chairman, as his period of tenure has elapsed; his successor as Vice Chairman is Mrs Pamela Goodman. The other officers are the same as last year and the independent examiners, Baldwins, (they were called Smith, Hodge & Baxter,) also remain the same.
Next year we will hopefully be able to invite you to our AGM that will be held, as in previous years, at Marlow House.
DUE TO THE CORONAVIRIUS CRISIS, MARLOW HOUSE IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
We will continue with our Meals on Wheels service.
Please stay safe and follow the guidelines from the Government..
