Many thanks to all the teams that entered another Geoff Crowther quiz on Tuesday 28th May, and to those who donated the raffle prizes. We all had a fun night and together raised £151 for Marlow House.
THE NEXT QUIZ at the Cons Cub on TUESDAY 25th June has been cancelled due to Football!!! It will now be on 30th July and is the Annual Carnival Quiz.
We are welcoming teams to book for the annual golf day on Friday 23rd August at Kettering Golf Club, also sponsorship would be brilliant.
The cost for players is £45, or, if a member at Kettering, £32. This is including a two course meal afterwards.
Sponsorship is £40 per plaque which is A4 size and placed at one of the tees, also with a copy displayed in the club house for the duration of the event. If you are interested email Vic Cosgrove for details and an entry form.
A fantastic amount of £1511.25 was raised by the Club throughout the year in memory of Duncan Ginns. Duncan's wife, Maureen, daughter, Louise and son, Ian are pictured presenting the very large cheque to Marlow Chair of Trustees Pamela Goodman. Again, many thanks.
Christmas lunches once again proved a great success this year with all three days fully booked. The lunches were kindly sponsored by Wacoal, who we must once again thank for their continued support for Marlow House.
The lunches were prepared by our new cook, Wayne, and everybody agreed what a grand job he and his staff and volunteers did.
The lunches were held upstairs in our function room, where the event is managed solely by volunteers.
This year we were very lucky in that the Market Harborough Building Society encouraged three members of their staff to volunteer and support us on all three days. Meeting, greeting and waiting at tables was carried out with much enthusiasm and smiling faces, and it was a pleasure working/volunteering with them – thank you all.
More Volunteers manned the function room kitchen to serve up the delicious food with the help of a naughty little elf washer upper!!!!!
This wonderful club attended our final day of lunchtime feasting and Joy Allen presented our Chair of Trustees, Pamela Goodman, with a cheque for £200. This had been collected over the year at their weekly meetings. Many, many thanks ladies.
Lorraine Wykes once again offered her HSBC Matchfunding to Marlow House. This means that whatever amount we raise at the coffee morning will be matched by HSBC up to a value of £500. Well, thanks to our supporters we raised over that amount, so can look forward to receiving a lovely £500 donation from HSBC via Lorraine. Many thanks to Lorraine and to all the Friends of Marlow House.
We raised a spectacular amount of £4,338. What a day it was. For all the photos and sponsor details click on the link below.
